The following positions are open/expiring in 2022, and your input and your expertise are needed to keep the offerings of the Chapter relevant, fresh, and exciting!

Get Active in Your Local Chapter Leadership and Earn PDUs!

This is an exciting volunteer opportunity which will allow you to apply your knowledge, skills, and voice to shape the direction of the Chapter and the Project Management profession in our area.  It also provides the opportunity to connect with the Officers of other Chapters, and with leaders of the Project Management Institute!  While you choose to serve locally, your ideas and your leadership can have a global impact!

  • How long will I serve? Board candidates will be elected to 2-year terms.
  • What skills do I need?  All of us bring unique skills and perspectives, so this opportunity is open to all members of PMISWIC in good standing!
  • Is training available? Newly elected board members will receive comprehensive training through PMI’s Volunteer Resource Center and will also benefit from the mentorship of the existing board members who will be available to help the new Board members “Learn the Ropes”! 
  • How much time is required? Typically, the roles require about 2-4 hours each month, and as mentioned, you will earn PDUs for the time invested in the Board!

I’m Interested!  What’s Next?

In accordance with our established bylaws, members in good standing are eligible to serve as Board members and may nominate themselves simply by informing the Board of your intention to be involved! At our meeting on January 18th, we will review submissions we have received, and follow up with interested candidates to plan next steps!

Description

Chapter President

Rick Whitson

Serves as the chief executive officer for the Chapter/Board, and performs duties including making all required appointments with the approval of the Board. The President also serves as a member exofficio with the right to participate and vote on all committees except the Nominating Committee.

VP Programs

Open

Serves as an officer of the board, with responsibilities which include arranging the agenda and details for Chapter Meetings (e.g. speakers, panel discussions, development opportunities, networking events)

VP Administration

Dr. Stephanie Brown

Keeps the records of all business meetings for the Chapter and the Board.

VP Professional 
Development

Open

Serves as the point of contact in the Chapter related to professional development opportunities for its members.  Also helps to identify and/or develop classes, seminars and study groups (among other opportunities) which help to enrich and build upon the skills that our members possess related to the Project Management profession

VP Membership

David Shrimpton

Responsible for the recruitment and engagement of Chapter members, including welcoming incoming members, and follow up at renewal, expiration or departure.  The VP Membership is also the initial point of contact for questions related to membership or questions from Chapter members

VP Finance

Open

Oversees the management of funds for duly authorized purposes of the Chapter

VP Communications

Mark Lush

Coordinates the efforts of the Chapter to keep its members up-to-date with the events, opportunities  and business of the Chapter.  

Director At-Large (2)

- Dr. Curtis Colleton
- Open Position

Directors At-Large serve on the Chapter Board and assist with duties which include, but are not limited to: 

  • Providing strategic guidance 
  • Providing monthly updates on strategy execution to the rest of the Board. 
  • Acting as “sponsors” for projects 
  • Act as a “mentor” to emerging leaders in their portfolio area - grooming them for potential nomination to a future election. 
  • Collaborate on preparation and submission of budgets 
Director, Military Liaison

Tim Aldrich Newly created position for PMISWIC: includes serving as a consultant/advisor for Chapter members who have a military background
