How agile are you? That was the question posed to an enthusiastic audience at the June 2019 Chapter Meeting by Deborah Kohut, PMP, an IT Project Manager at Vectren. Deborah is a native of Evansville and a graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Psychology and minor in Business. She has earned certfications of PMP, CSM, and CPO. She is Rotarian, board chair of Keep Evansville Beautiful, and volunteerswith Zeta Tau Alpha at University of Evansville.
Deborah's presentation covered the basics of Agile and how it was successfully applied to upgrade Vectren's power outage management system. All 20 attendees were able to appreciate the challenges of convincing a conservative management that Agile was the appropriate model for management of this complex project. Deborah was supported by several IT Project Managers, and it is really encouraging to see an interest in our profession from the IT world.
Rolling Hills CC treated us well, as usual, with hot hors d'oevres and soft drinks courtesy of PMISWIC, and access to the cash bar in the 19th Hole.
Register and listen to July's speaker (see Event icon) and mark your calendars for the September Chapter Meeting, when we shall be celebrating PMI's 50th Anniversary.
